Accident w/ Heavy Rescue - Ridgley Md
On 10-9-2014 the Ridgley Fire Department was alerted for a serious accident with entrapment at the intersection of Rt.404 and Ridgley Rd. Crews arrived to find a 3-vehicle accident involving three tractor-trailers. The driver of the last tractor-trailer was heavily entrapped inside his destroyed of his cab. Crews worked for nearly 30 mins to free the driver from the cab. MSP Trooper-6 was requested and flew the driver to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment. Rt.404 was shut down for several hours during the alarm. Maryland Department of Transportation is investigating the cause of the accident.
Units responded to the scene were: Ridgley Fire Department, Denton Fire Department, Queen Anne County EMS, Carline County EMS, Denton EMS, Maryland State Police Trooper-6, Queen Anne County Sheriffs Department and Maryland State Police.
